Chandra Barks

from No : No : Winter by Meadow Argus

Chandra Barks

She runs and she runs and she runs
Through the devil’s farm
Nipping at the heels of the foal
She could come to such harm
The old man’s got a gun
And he don’t care where you’re from
And she barks
Cha cha cha

Picking out the hint of a scent
And she follows it down
Licking at the ice cream hands
And barking at the passing cows
Chandra’s got a bone
And she wants to take it home
And she barks

Through the fence, across the creek
So intent she starts at the sound
Cracking through the morning air
Thunder clap, the lunar hound
Chandra’s done tonight
Bathing in moonlight
And she barks
Cha cha cha

Meadow Argus QLD, Australia

Australian psych-folk freaks, Meadow Argus travel forgotten mountain tracks and narrow country lanes collecting imagined folklore and abandoned ephemera. Found sounds intertwine with bubbling synths, intricate acoustic guitars, and spaced-out electrics. Woven into a tattered and worn tapestry of pastoral acoustic abstracts, whimsical electronica, and sparklingly dark jangle fuzz pop songs. ... more
